Lager re-born.

Eduardo Paolozzi (1924 – 2005) was born in Edinburgh to Italian parents and is regarded as the founding father of Pop Art. A suitable ‘muse’, if you like. He represents the best of modern Scotland. More than haggis and tartan, he embodies the playfulness, inventiveness and open-mindedness that makes Scotland so unique and vibrant,.

There were two key challenges in this brief. How to present the art and personality of the great artist Paolozzi and how to provide an architecture that could become an extensive portfolio. The circular ‘porthole’ was inspired by the large mash tuns used to brew the lager in. This project was worked on whilst in full-time employment at JKR London.
